Brian (Katie’s brother) and his long-time friend Jeff fancy themselves runners.  This couldn’t be further from the truth, but it doesn’t keep them from trying.

Last year, Jeff decided to run his very first half marathon in honor of his son Asher who he and his wife sadly lost during pregnancy.  In solidarity, Brian dusted off his running shoes and ran it with him.  After months of intense training, they both managed to hobble across the finish line in less than 2 hours.  It was a fun and meaningful activity, and they raised quite a bit of money for the Special Olympics in Asher’s name.  Weeks later they both regained their ability to walk again.  Success!

This year, they’re back for more pain and torture, this time running the Lake Minnetonka Half Marathon to raise money and awareness for We Believe In Katie, one week after the annual birthday benefit.  To add to the fun, Jeff's brother-in-law David is running with the team as well.  If you’re in the area, come cheer them on at the Excelsior Commons on the morning of May 5th  (They’ll likely be crossing the finish line some time shortly after 9 am).  And if you can’t make it, just smash that donate button instead!
