Katie's Birthday Benefit 2017

Thank you so much for joining us for Katie’s Birthday Benefit! The evening was full of laughter, music, and fun, and was a remarkable success! Because of your generosity, we raised over $21,000!

With the funds raised, we honored Katie and deepened her legacy in two ways:

We’ve established a scholarship fund at Verona Area High School in Katie’s name.  This fund will award a need-based scholarship to a senior studying either psychology or the arts, two of Katie’s passions, for the next 15 years. The scholarship will be presented at VAHS Senior awards night, but won’t be awarded until the student completes their first semester.  This year’s scholarship was awarded on May 10th to Jenna Acker, a student majoring in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.  It was a wonderfully moving and rewarding event.

We also made a donation to Make-a-Wish Wisconsin.   Your generosity sent Ethan, an 11 year old boy from Milton, WI with a life-threatening seizure disorder, to Walt Disney World. We know Katie would have been so happy to bring some joy to Ethan's life.

Katie’s kind and generous spirit is alive and well in all of you, and we are so grateful that you helped us celebrate and honor her life.  We want to continue to pay-it-forward in her honor, and we hope you’ll celebrate with us again next year!

There are more people out there who need our help, so stay tuned for information about next year’s charities, as we choose another cause that was important to Katie.  We hope you will join us as we continue to deepen her legacy.
